Natural Hair Update – Carol’s Daughter
My sister treated me to Carol’s Daughter Hair Milk earlier this summer. I wasn’t sure about it at first. For my birthday, my sis purchased the Loc Butter. After all the products I’ve tried this year, I can finally say I have found something I like. Thanks sis!
I discovered through trial and error, my hair doesn’t like mineral oil or petroleum. Carol’s Daughter’s products doesn’t use these ingredients. There not totally perfect and are on the expensive side, but they do last awhile. So, these days, the hair milk and Loc Butter are my main products.
I use the Loc Butter for my twists. It’s easier to maintain the moisture in my hair, especially during these hot days, by wearing a more protective hairstyle. It takes me about an hour and half to two hours sometimes to twist all of my hair, but it’s worth it. I can usually maintain the twists up to 5 days and I have received comments on them. I’m looking forward to when my hair grows out more and I can wear more of a bob-look or a ponytail with the twists.
The hair milk is more for adding moisture during the week if I need it. Since I twist my hair while it’s wet, the Loc Butter usually does the job of keeping it conditioned for awhile. I try not to use too much, because it can make your hair greasy – that’s a drawback.
Since the March cut, my hair has been growing nicely and I really love the texture. On the weekends (see the photo above), I rock twist-outs, wash my hair and then twist it up for the week again.
Check out Carol’s Daughter to see if her products work for you.
I’m not trying to sound like a commercial. Honestly! These products really work differently for everyone’s hair type. You just have to try them for yourself and hope you don’t waste too much money.
