Nonfictionon January 28th, 2010No Comments

I was really excited when I saw this book was being featured on the FIRST Wild Card Tour. Yolanda Adams is one of my favorite gospel singers and there have been many mornings when I have enjoyed  her morning show on the commute to work. I will post my thoughts about the book soon.

About Yolanda…
Yolanda Adams is listed among the artists who have achieved the greatest critical and commercial success in blending R&B styles with gospel music. She has released twelve albums, two of which were certified platinum, one gold, and has won over twenty awards for her music. She currently hosts The Yolanda Adams Morning Show and makes her home in Houston. You can find out more about Yolanda at  the author’s website.

My goal this year is to present my clients and their books in unique, interactive ways. This past week, I had major video editing on my plate. Transitioning to Natural Hair

Natural Hair, TY's MIXon January 2nd, 20102 Comments

Each year, I like to try new ventures. I’m graphic designer and online book promoter, so I’m always checking out new techniques and studying new ideas. I decided to start video blogging here. For the first topic, I decided to talk about my transition from relaxed hair to natural hair. Now that might not seem very “spiritual”, but this process thus far has been moving me in what I hope to be a positive direction. I’m all about growth and growing to love my natural kinks is going to be major for me this year.

I will be posting links about natural hair and keeping you updated on my process over the next few months.

God Sightings: The NLT One Year Bible

Nonfictionon January 1st, 2010No Comments

imageI started last year with intentions of reading the bible all the way through. I can’t say that happened. It’s a new year and I’m trying it again. One of the goals I listed in my post yesterday was to  dedicate time to reading the bible and stick with it. I’m clearly not a morning person, so the appointed time will be in early evening. My goal is to transition better from my daytime activities to night time by allowing time to re-energize me.

I received a copy of God Sightings – The One Year Bible last fall and started reading it. The New Living Translation (NLT) is an enjoyable version of the bible to read. Each day there’s a reading from the Old Testament, the New Testament, Psalms and Proverbs. That’s a lot of reading, but I like it because I have never really read through all the Psalms before, still have read through the prophets either.

There are a lot more resources included with this Bible. I just registered on the God Sightings website at http://www.mygodsightings.com/.
