Greetings Everyone,
I’m Marlive Harris, the founder and business owner of TheGRITS.com – www.thegrits.com - an online reading and book promotion community for readers and writers of all ages. In addition to being an online book marketer for authors and publishers, I’m also the Library Ministry Leader at St. Luke Baptist Church in Humble, TX (north east suburb of Houston) where Rev. Timothy Sloan is Sr. Pastor.
This year marks the 108th Anniversary of our Church and our commitment to serving our members and the city of Humble through Spiritual Development, Social Witness, Economic Empowerment and Health Education. On Saturday September 13, 2008 from 10 AM – 3 PM we are hosting The Luke 108 Expo that will be focusing on health, family, ministry and business for our church members and the local community at the Humble Civic Center located at 8322 Will Clayton Pkwy.
As Ministry Leader of our Church Library, which will be transitioning into a Book Store in 2009 (an awesome venue for me to host Christian readings and book signings), I will be showcasing and promoting some of the *best* in Christian Literature that day! We are expecting to have as few as 250 and a many as 400+ people pass through the expo (these numbers are based on past expos); I’m preparing at least 300 book promotional swag bags that will include 1 FREE book to all who stop by my “Library-to-Book Store-Ministry” area that day . . . woo-hoo!
This is where I need your help!
If you have promotional items (children literature welcome too) such as: postcards, book marks, pens, pencils, promotional fans (church ladies love those fans) magnets, markers, highlighters, key chains, sport bottles, flyers, CDs, DVDs, newsletters, brochures, magazines, autograph copies of old/new fiction and nonfiction books, etc. . . that you would like included in our promotional sway bag, please send your items by Thursday, September 11, 2008 to:

All authors, publishers, and organizations who send promotional items to me for this event will have their name, website, and email (if provided) listed on a special brochure/flyer that I’m preparing to go inside of each swag bag. This brochure/flyer will serve as a handy informational guide to the bag’s content and make it easier for visitors to locate and visit your website for more information after this event!
