by Eddie Ensley

In Prayer That Relieves Stress and Worry, Ensley introduces readers to various types of prayers and meditation techniques for Christians.  The following quote places the entire purpose of the book into perspective. “Accustom yourself to speak to God, one to one, in a familiar manner as to the dearest friend you have, and who loves you best of all.” — St. Alphonosus Deliguor

Book Blogger Appreciation Week September 15-19

Guest Bloggerson August 25th, 2008No Comments

Amy over at My Friend Amy has started a Book Blogger Appreciation Week initiative. I decided to join because I can TOTALLY relate to the post. LOL!

Book Bloggers: You work hard. You read books, you write reviews, you maintain relationships with your readers, publicists, and authors. You are constantly running to the post office to mail your giveaways and participating in carnivals to help boost traffic. You sometimes want to faint when you see the size of your TBR pile, but faithfully you read. And you do it because you love it. Book blogging is for most a hobby. But it’s a hobby that takes a lot of work and time. It’s a labor of love.

Visit My Friend Amy to register for this blogging event.

This devotion was originally written in 2000. It’s been modified to reflect my thoughts now as more mature Christian. At least that’s my prayer. Share your thoughts.

If you take a look at the coins or dollar bills in your wallet or purse. Some where on the back or front, it will state, “In God We Trust.”  Trust. That’s the topic for today’s devotion.

One of the most practical areas of the bible is the book of Proverbs. Most of Proverbs was recorded by King Solomon, known to be the wisest man of all time (1 King 3:12). Like his father King David, Solomon was a good king. Unfortunately, Solomon didn’t remain as faithful to God as his father. Even though he was the wisest man in the world, Solomon inherited a flaw from his dad, a deep love for beautiful women. Solomon went above and beyond by marrying 700 foreign women and keeping 300 concubines in his lavish palace.

2008 Faith and Fiction Retreat

Conferences, EVENTS, Photoson August 22nd, 20088 Comments

Some of the photos on my camera came out darker than I would have liked. So, I had to play with brightness and contrast for some of them. Anyway, this should give you a pretty good idea of the sessions. The Palms of Destin resort was absolutely gorgeous and definitely was a “treat.”

added 8/23/2008 – After the photos scroll down for my recap! The first part is about my adventuresome Thursday afternoon. read more
