I’m turning CookieAisle.com over today to a real cool chick, by the name of Camy Tang. Camy writes Asian Chick-Lit for Zondervan. Her book, Only Uni, was released March 2008.

Be sure to CHECK out a cookie recipe from Camy below. If you have any cookie recipes to share, feel free to post them in the comment section or email them to cookieaisle [at] yahoo.com. Blessings, Ty

Cookies!

Okay, I’m giving fair warning, I’m going to be very silly. I can’t help it, Ty’s blog is so CUTE! Who can resist blogging about COOKIES????

When I first “met” Ty on the internet, she gave a link to her blog CookieAisle.com, and I just about died because it looked so yummy. I also thought she had the most fabulous theme for a blog anybody could come up with. Who doesn’t like cookies?

My husband, Captain Caffeine, actually likes cookies more than I do. Really, it’s true! He likes them so much that he will actually bake them for himself. (Luckily for my thunder thighs, he doesn’t do this too often.)

He baked some last year and I posted it on my blog, to my readers’ great delight. There was probably a clamoring of women dragging their husbands to the computer to show them a man baking cookies. Here’s the blog post:

He likes soft cookies. Anyone else? He is constantly searching for the perfect soft chocolate chip cookie recipe. He’s gotten close with one that involves pudding added to the dough, but it was a bit crumbly.

I like crispy cookies. Anyone with me? My mom’s cousin has a cookie-making business that is actually quite successful, and she makes the best crispy cookies (they have more butter than I want to contemplate). Chocolate chip macadamia nut, almond, lemon, corn flakes (it sounds weird but they’re actually really good), and oatmeal.

I love Christmas for many reasons, but one is because of Captain Caffein’s coworker. She makes terrific cookies, and she always gives her coworkers an assortment of several different kinds. She gives the Captain at least two cookies per kind, to keep me happy.

I am also ga-ga over some cookies from Japan. They’re French-style—light and airy, with heavenly creams coating them or in between wafers. I could eat an entire box, they’re so divine.

If any of you have cookie recipes you’d like to share, I’m all ears! Post a comment on my blog:

Who wouldn’t want to acquire more cookie recipes????

Here’s a favorite cookie recipe from my grandma:

1 lb. butter
1 1/3 cups sugar
5 cups flour
1 tsp. vanilla

Mix. Pat dough into two half-sheet trays. Poke surface with a fork. Bake at 350 degrees for 20-30 minutes or until brown. Cut into pieces while still warm.

Enjoy!

Camy Tang is the loud Asian chick who writes loud Asian chick lit. She used to be a biologist, but now she is a staff worker for her church youth group and leads a worship team for Sunday service. She also runs the Story Sensei fiction critique service. On her blog, she gives away Christian novels every Monday and Thursday, and she ponders frivolous things like dumb dogs (namely, hers), coffee-geek husbands (no resemblance to her own…), the writing journey, Asiana, and anything else that comes to mind. Visit her website at http://www.camytang.com/ for a huge website contest going on right now, giving away five boxes of books and 25 copies of her latest release, ONLY UNI.
